As you get started on the Gitstart platform, it is natural for questions to arise in your mind. If you can't find your answers below, get in touch!
All plans come with free onboarding where a dedicated account manager will understand your environment and onboard specific repositories into the Gitstart core engine. After onboarding, you would have to buy one of our plans and utilize it against the PRs shipped by Gitstart Accelerate.
Major advancements in GitStart are automatic on-boarding & ranking specific to each code repository. Every developer is assigned a unique rank per repository & only allowed to work on a repository if their rank is beyond a threshold.
New or low rank developers have to undertake older tasks first & seek internal peer reviews to build up their repository specific rank before taking up real tasks.
Furthermore, every developer gets a tech plan written by a senior high rank developer which makes it very simple to jump into the task and help them "think" and build like a senior.
Our customers love how GitStart can automatically ramp up capacity behind the scenes while effectively shipping senior level pull requests written by junior developers on the platform!
Currently GitStart recommends solid hires from Brazil, Nigeria, Philippines & India. Relocation cost, if hiring for on-site roles, is generally covered by the customers.
North America (USA + Canada) is coming later this year which would make GitStart the ideal way to hire on-site & remote developers for teams based across North America.
Customers love the hires they make from GitStart. Every candidate recommended by GitStart has an entire history of tasks he did previously on the customer's codebase. What's really exciting is that by the time customers hire, devs are already fully on-boarded onto the codebase. This effectively saves one - three months of initial technical ramp up.
GitStart generally charges between 5-8k USD for every hire which ONLY applies if the developer stays > 6 months in the team. Unlike hiring directly or from recruiters, the resultant savings on initial on-boarding costs alone makes the GitStart model very cost effective for teams which are moving fast.
The cost of each task is determined by a tech plan which is submitted for review before the task starts. Tech Plans take into account the complexity of both the task and the repository.
This makes it very difficult to get a rough estimate of GitStart without trying it out. However, GitStart has been found to be a cost effective solution for our customers if they are paying greater than 30 USD / hour for medium to highly skilled developers.
We understand the cost sensitivity that most teams have to deal with. Hence, our customer support team will build a special pilot plan for you during the initial engagement.

At GitStart, security is critical for our survival as a company which is why we open up local subsidiaries in every country we work. We hire developers as our employees with local IDs to ensure we have legal jurisdiction in the areas they work.
Additionally, every developer works from our web based VSCode powered IDE which means code is never cloned and very fine grain access control can be performed on the codebase.
We also provide corporate liability for enterprise clients through insurance policies from our partners. We are putting infrastructure in place to be fully HIPAA compliant by end of 2019. If you have specific concerns please reach out to us and our compliance team will assist you.
Quality is our bread and butter at GitStart. Thats why we ONLY charge for a task if the code is accepted and deemed good enough to be merged.
